Luzula multiflora
Common name: Heath Woodrush

Heath woodrush is a subtle but striking native grass-like perennial, forming soft clumps of pale green, silky foliage often fringed with fine white hairs. In late spring, it produces delicate brown flower clusters held on slender upright stems.

This species is rarely offered in nurseries, yet its unique texture and tidy form make it an excellent choice for mass plantings, woodland edges, naturalized gardens, or as a refined ground cover in part-shade to full sun.

Though little is known about its wildlife interactions, its seeds are likely dispersed by ants or other insects. Once established, it is fairly drought-tolerant and low-maintenance.
