Our guided ecological tours offer an immersive, field-based introduction to the plant communities, habitats, and environmental dynamics that shape our region. Grounded in regional ecology and adapted to the site and audience, these tours go beyond species identification — they explore how soil, geology, moisture, disturbance, and history have shaped the living systems participants are standing in.

We have delivered guided walks and ecological interpretation on behalf of municipalities, non-profit organizations, and community groups throughout the Ottawa–Gatineau region.

What We Explore

No two tours cover exactly the same ground. Sessions are shaped by the site, the season, and the interests of the group. Depending on location, a tour might explore alvar, woodland, sand, wetland, or meadow ecosystems — examining the native and non-native species present, the ecological niches they occupy, and the relationships between plants, pollinators, soil, and water. Where relevant, we also address invasive species, their impacts on native communities, and practical stewardship strategies participants can apply on their own land.

The goal is not just to name what is there, but to help participants understand why it is there — and what that tells us about the history and future of the landscape.

Who These Tours Are For

We work with municipalities, conservation and ecological organizations, schools and youth groups, community and stewardship associations, and private landowners. Content is adapted to suit general public audiences, gardeners and naturalists, professional or technical groups, and youth programming.

Format & Duration

Tours typically run one to two hours, though longer sessions can be arranged depending on site complexity and group interest. Groups of all sizes are welcome.

Guided ecological tours start at $300, with pricing adjusted based on group size, location, and duration. Quotes are free.
