Crawford’s Sedge is a graceful and compact native sedge, known for its dense, upright spikelets and slender, bright green foliage. It brings subtle texture and structure to the landscape, and is ideal for naturalized gardens, rain gardens, or low-maintenance lawns.
Naturally found in wet, sandy or gravelly soils, often along roadsides and disturbed areas, this sedge is surprisingly adaptable. Once established, it’s drought-tolerant, making it a great choice for transition zones, pollinator plantings, or restoration projects.
Crawford’s Sedge grows best in full sun and acidic to neutral soils, but is forgiving and easy to establish in a variety of garden settings.
