Amauropelta noveboracensis (Fr: thélyptère de New York | En: New York fern)
New York fern (Amauropelta noveboracensis ) is a particularly attractive fern that is great for using as a ground cover in cool moist areas.
New York ferns typically grow in large colonies, spreading slowly through rhizomes to form dense patches. The fronds are broadly lance-shaped, with a vibrant green colour that makes shady areas feel like ancient forests. It also has a pleasant hay-like scent but should not be confused with the similar looking hay-scented fern.
This fern species prefers moist, well-drained soil, and can often be found growing in rich, shaded forests or along streambanks.
